About your workshop with Kristen

Drawing and design are the foundations of art and inherent in finished drawings or paintings (in any media), printmaking, and calligraphy. This workshop will focus on exercises that strengthen your drawing skills, whether you are a beginner and “can’t draw a stick figure” or an artist wishing to improve existing skills. Everyone (and their artwork) benefits from learning and continuing the practice of drawing. We will also explore design and composition and how these fundamental elements, when applied well, can take your work to the next level. Participants will learn through a series of exercises, demonstrations, and samples, and leave with renewed confidence and enhanced skills in both drawing and design.

Here are some examples of Kristen's professional work. Class work will consist of drawing and composition design and will not get into these mediums, but it's important to show that strong design lends itself well to all media!
